Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb turkey kielbasa, sliced
  • 1 medium head green cabbage, chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 onion, sliced bonus flavor points
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth or vegetable if preferred
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • to taste crushed red pepper flakes optional for some kick

Instructions

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, drizzle in the olive oil. Add the sliced kielbasa and let it cook for a few minutes until it turns golden and starts to sizzle.
  • Toss in the sliced onion and minced garlic. Sauté together for another minute until the onion turns translucent.
  • Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Pour in the chicken broth and season with salt and pepper and red pepper flakes if desired.
  • Give it a good stir, cover the skillet with a lid, and let it cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Check if the cabbage is tender after about 12 minutes. If it isn’t, let it simmer for a few more minutes.
  • Once everything’s cooked to tenderness, taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  • Spoon your creation into bowls and enjoy!

Notes

Try adding spices like paprika or Italian herbs for extra flavor. This dish rewarms well and pairs nicely with crusty bread.
