Ingredients
  

For the T-Bone Steak

  • 2 pieces T-Bone steaks, about 1 inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For rubbing the steaks
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

For the Fried Shrimp

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk For soaking shrimp
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust for spice level
  • as needed vegetable oil for frying

  • as needed Fresh parsley for garnish

Preparation

  • Generously season the T-Bone steaks with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub with olive oil and let sit for 30 minutes.

Cooking the Steaks

  • Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the seasoned steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.

Frying the Shrimp

  • Soak the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 15 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Dredge the soaked shrimp in this mixture.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C) and gently lower the shrimp into the oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.

Serving

  • Plate the sizzling T-Bone steaks alongside the fried shrimp. Serve with lemon wedges and fresh parsley.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness: 145°F for medium-rare and 160°F for medium. Fry shrimp in batches to maintain crispness.
