Ingredients
  

For the crust and filling

  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts (two crusts) Ensure they are properly refrigerated until use.
  • 1 cup strawberry jam (or whichever fruit flavor tickles your fancy) Feel free to use any fruit spread.
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash) Whisk before applying.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For glazing.
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk For glazing; adjust for desired consistency.
  • to taste sprinkles Optional, but highly recommended!
  • optional vanilla extract For extra flavor, if desired.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Roll out the refrigerated pie crusts slightly to smooth any creases.
  • Cut out 12-14 circles from the pie crust using a round cutter or glass.
  • Fit each circle into the cups of a greased muffin tin and press down to form shells.
  • Add about a tablespoon of strawberry jam to each cup.
  • Cut out smaller circles from the remaining pie crust to cover the filled cups.
  • Whisk the egg in a bowl and brush it over the tops of the cups.

Baking

  • Bake in the oven for 20-22 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.

Finishing Touches

  • Let them cool for a few minutes, then mix the powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze.
  • Drizzle or spread the glaze on top and finish with sprinkles.

Notes

Get creative with flavors by using different jams or even chocolate. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
