Marinade Ingredients

  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh is preferred for better flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated Use fresh ginger for a vibrant taste.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional for extra heat.

Preparation

  • Start by cleaning your chicken wings under cold water, then pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to create the marinade.
  • Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and let the wings marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare your grill.
  • If baking, place the wings on a lined baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through. If grilling, grill for about 20 minutes, turning occasionally until caramelized.
  • While the wings are cooking, reserve some marinade in a separate pot, boil it, and simmer until slightly thickened to create the glaze.
  • Once cooked, brush the wings with the glaze before serving.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Marinate overnight for even more tenderness. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
