Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups uncooked medium pasta shells
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup frozen peas (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder. Whisk until well combined.
  • Pour this sauce mixture over the chicken. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Toss in the uncooked pasta shells directly into the slow cooker and mix gently until combined.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for approximately 6-7 hours, or 4-5 hours on high.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the frozen peas (if using) and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  • Once done, shred the chicken with two forks right in the slow cooker, stir everything together, and serve.

Notes

Don’t fret if your sauce looks a little lumpy at first; it’s just part of the magic! You can also opt for rotisserie chicken to save time or add some spinach or bell peppers for extra veggies.
