Ingredients

For the Steak and Potatoes

  • 1 lb flank steak (or your favorite cut)
  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, diced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

For Extra Flavor

  • A splash of Worcestershire sauce
  • A splash of soy sauce (if you’re feeling wild)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by boiling the diced potatoes in a medium pot. Add some salt to the water for flavor and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. When they’re soft, drain and set aside.
  • While the potatoes are cooking, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of butter and let it melt.
  • Season your flank steak with salt, pepper, and paprika. Carefully place the steak in the hot skillet.
  • Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, depending on your preferred doneness.
  • In the last minute of cooking, toss in the minced garlic, the remaining butter, and a splash of Worcestershire and soy sauce.
  • Add the cooked potatoes to the skillet with the steak. Gently toss everything together so that the potatoes soak up that luscious garlic butter.
  • Slice the steak against the grain for maximum tenderness and serve alongside those buttery potatoes.
  • Sprinkle fresh parsley on top, if using, for a pop of color.

Notes

Don't overcrowd the pan if you’re making a larger batch. Adjust cooking time based on steak thickness. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
