Ingredients
  

For the filling

  • 1 pound Shrimp, peeled and deveined Feel free to play around with different proteins!
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Garlic makes everything better.
  • 4 ounces Cream cheese, softened The secret to a rich, creamy filling.
  • 2 count Green onions, finely chopped For color and crunch.
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce Adds umami flavor.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste To season the filling.

For assembly

  • 25 sheets Wonton wrappers Found in the refrigerated section.
  • Olive oil, for cooking Can use your favorite frying oil.

Instructions
 

Prepare the Filling

  • In a skillet, heat a splash of olive oil over medium heat.
  • Toss in the minced garlic, cooking until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  • Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink (approximately 2-3 minutes).

Mix it Up

  • In a bowl, combine the cooked shrimp, cream cheese, and green onions.
  • Stir until everything is well-blended.

Assemble the Cones

  • Take a wonton wrapper and lay it out flat.
  • Place about a tablespoon of your shrimp mixture in the center.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrapper and fold to create a cone shape.
  • Seal well, ensuring no filling escapes during cooking.

Fry 'Em Up

  • Heat oil in a pan to around 350°F (175°C).
  • Carefully add the wonton cones, frying until crispy and golden brown, around 2-3 minutes.
  • Drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Arrange your wonton cones on a platter and serve alongside a sweet and spicy dipping sauce.

Notes

To avoid filling escaping, seal the cones tightly. You can prepare the filling ahead of time and chill it for easier assembly. Try adding bell peppers or avocado for variations.
