Ingredients

Seafood mixture

  • 8 oz cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 8 oz crab meat

Creamy ingredients

  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar or Monterey Jack)

Flavor enhancers

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Bread and garnish

  • 4-6 slices your favorite bread (sourdough works great)
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, crab meat, and cream cheese. Mix until well blended.
  • Add the mayonnaise, shredded cheese, lemon juice, garlic powder, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Mix again until it's all nice and gooey.
  • Grab your slices of bread and place them on a baking sheet. Top each slice generously with your shrimp and crab mixture.

Cooking

  • Put your baking sheet in the oven and let those melts cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until the tops are golden and bubbly.
  • Once they’re done, take them out and let them cool for a minute. Then chop up some fresh green onions to sprinkle on top.

Notes

If you can’t find crab meat, you can use additional shrimp or even shredded chicken as a substitution. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
