Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For cooking
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter For basting
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (or thyme) Optional, for flavor
  • Salt and pepper To taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Let the ribeye steaks come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat a heavy skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and let it shimmer.
  • Carefully place the ribeye steaks into the pan. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for a perfect medium-rare. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.
  • In the last two minutes of cooking, add the butter, crushed garlic, and herbs to the pan. Baste the steaks with the melted butter.

Finishing Touches

  • Transfer the steaks to a cutting board and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice against the grain if desired, and serve warm. Pair with your favorite side dish.

Notes

Don't skip the resting time! It’s essential for a juicy steak. If pressed for time, serve with a simple salad for balance.
