Ingredients

Noodle Ingredients

  • 8 oz noodles (your choice: udon, egg, or rice noodles)

Filling Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork (or chicken)
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Broth Ingredients

  • 2 cups chicken broth

Garnish

  • chili oil (optional for a spicy kick)

Instructions

Cook the Noodles

  • Start by cooking your noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Make the Filling

  • In a skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the ground pork and cook it until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.

Add the Flavors

  • Once the meat is nearly done, toss in the garlic, ginger, and shredded cabbage. Sauté everything together for about 3–4 minutes until the cabbage wilts.

Season It Up

  • Add the soy sauce and sesame oil, stirring it all together to blend the flavors.

Prepare the Broth

  • In another pot, bring the chicken broth to a simmer.

Assemble Your Bowls

  • In a bowl, layer the cooked noodles, followed by the flavorful meat mixture. Pour the warm broth over the top.

Garnish

  • Sprinkle some green onions on top. If you’re feeling adventurous, a drizzle of chili oil brings a fantastic flair.

Notes

If you're short on time, pre-packaged coleslaw mix works wonders as a substitute for shredded cabbage.
