Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for even cooking.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  • Arrange the bacon strips in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Optionally, sprinkle with brown sugar and black pepper.

Cooking

  • Place the baking sheet on the oven’s middle rack and set a timer for 15 to 20 minutes, depending on desired crispiness.
  • Check the bacon at 15 minutes for doneness. Add a few more minutes if you prefer a golden-brown color.
  • Once ready, use tongs to transfer the bacon onto paper towels to drain excess grease.

Notes

Cooking bacon in the oven reduces the risk of burning and allows for even cooking. For extra crispy bacon, consider using a wire rack on top of the baking sheet. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
