Ingredients
  

For the Baklava Cups

  • 1 package phyllo dough Usually found in the freezer section
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted For brushing layers of phyllo
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped The nutty star of the recipe
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed The sweeter, the better!
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Adds warmth and flavor
  • 1 cup caramel sauce Store-bought or homemade
  • optional powdered sugar for sprinkling For an elegant touch

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Thaw the phyllo dough according to package instructions, usually about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin (12-cup size) with non-stick spray or melted butter.

Layering the Phyllo

  • Carefully unroll the phyllo dough and layer about 5 sheets in each muffin cup, brushing melted butter over each layer.

Preparing the Filling

  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Scoop the mixture evenly into the prepared phyllo cups.

Baking

  • Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Caramel Drizzle

  • Once out of the oven, let the cups cool slightly before drizzling caramel sauce over each cup.

Serve

  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Thaw phyllo properly to avoid cracking. If caramel is too thick, microwave briefly to loosen. Individual components can be prepared a day in advance.
