  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your choice—sweet, tangy, or spicy)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

Cooking the Chicken

  • In a slow cooker, add the chicken breasts, chicken broth, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Set it on low and let it cook for about 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours.

Shredding the Chicken

  • Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks or a stand mixer with the whisk attachment.

Mixing and Serving

  • Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker, mix it with the sauce, and let it soak up the flavor for about 10 minutes.
  • Load up your buns with the pulled chicken goodness and top it off with your favorite extras.

Notes

This shredded chicken freezes wonderfully. Make a double batch for busy weeknights. You can substitute shredded rotisserie chicken to save time.
