Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup water Just enough to bring the dough together
  • 1 tablespoon salt For flavor

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually pour in the water while mixing with a fork or your hands until a dough begins to form.
  • Lightly flour your surface and knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rest for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Divide the rested dough into four equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and then flatten it gently to form a circle about a half-inch thick.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each flattened dough for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown and puffed up.
  • Serve warm, slathered in butter or alongside dips or soups.

Notes

If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle a little more flour. Feel free to add herbs or spices to the dough for extra flavor.
