Ingredients
  

Truffle Mixture

  • 1 package package of Oreos (about 14.3 oz)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips For coating
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • ½ cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes For garnish
  • optional extra crushed Oreos for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Crush the Oreos by placing them in a food processor or by putting them in a sturdy ziplock bag and crushing them with a rolling pin.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese and mix until you have a dough-like consistency.
  • Cover the bowl and place it in the fridge for about 30 minutes.

Coating

  • Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler until smooth.
  • Form small balls from the chilled Oreo mixture, about one inch in diameter.
  • Dip each truffle into the melted white chocolate to coat completely.
  • Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on top for garnish before the chocolate sets.

Chilling

  • Place the finished truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and chill in the fridge for 15-20 minutes to let the chocolate set.
