Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 8 pieces hot dogs (your favorite kind will do!)
  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • to taste Mustard or ketchup (for the mummy eyes) Let's give them some character!

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Open the tube of crescent roll dough and unroll it. Separate it into triangles and cut each triangle into strips about 1/2-inch wide.

Assembly

  • Wrap the hot dogs with the dough strips haphazardly, leaving a small area at the top for eyes.

Baking

  • Place wrapped mummies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.

Finishing Touch

  • After pulling them out of the oven, let them cool for a minute, then use mustard or ketchup to dot little eyes on the mummies.

Notes

If desired, you can use puff pastry instead of crescent dough for a flakier texture. Consider switching hot dogs for sausages or veggie dogs. For a spooky platter, serve with a side of 'bloody' dipping sauce by mixing ketchup with a splash of hot sauce.
