Ingredients
  

For the Patties

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped Crying optional!
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Assembly

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup frozen tater tots
  • 12 pieces mini burger buns
  • Optional toppings: ketchup, mustard, pickles, or mayo

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to about 425°F (220°C). Spread tater tots onto a baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.

Cooking the Patties

  • In a bowl, mix ground beef, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into small patties.
  • Cook the patties on a stovetop skillet over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side or grill them. Keep an eye on them to avoid overcooking.

Cheesing It Up

  • Once patties are cooked, add cheddar cheese on top and cover for a minute to melt the cheese.

Assembly

  • On the bottom half of each bun, place a tater tot, then a cheeseburger patty, and finish with the top half of the bun.
  • Add optional toppings like ketchup or mustard.

Serving

  • Let the burgers cool slightly before serving and enjoy!

Notes

For a twist, use sweet potato tater tots or substitute ground turkey for lighter options. Involve kids in assembling their burgers for a fun kitchen activity.
