Ingredients
  

For the Crust

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

For the Cheesecake Filling

  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs Also at room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cup fresh orange juice
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • ½ cup sour cream Can substitute with Greek yogurt.

For the Topping

  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Additional orange zest for garnish

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  • In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until everything is well combined.
  • Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and fluffy.
  • Gradually add the sugar, mixing well after each addition.
  • Add the eggs one by one, followed by the vanilla extract, orange juice, and orange zest. Mix until creamy.
  • Pour the filling over the crust in the springform pan.

Baking

  • Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until the center is set but still jiggles slightly.
  • Let it cool in the oven with the door slightly ajar for about an hour.
  • Chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours (or overnight).

Serving

  • Before serving, top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of orange zest.
  • Cut into slices, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

Room temperature ingredients yield a smoother batter. Patience during cooling leads to a better cheesecake. Crust variations are possible with crushed Oreos or Nilla wafers.
