Ingredients
  

For the Pie

  • 1 pre-made pie crust 1 unbaked pie crust Store-bought is acceptable.
  • 1 cup 1 cup of sugar Adjust to taste for sweetness.
  • 1 cup 1 cup of corn syrup
  • 3 large 3 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup ½ cup of melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup 1 cup of chopped pecans Can substitute walnuts.
  • 1 pinch A pinch of salt To balance the sweetness.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, corn syrup, and melted butter until smooth.
  • Add in the eggs, one at a time, along with the vanilla extract and pinch of salt. Whisk until everything is just combined.
  • Toss in the chopped pecans and stir well.

Baking

  • Carefully pour the mixture into your pie crust.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. If the edges start getting too brown, cover them with foil.
  • Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 30 minutes.
  • Serve with a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

If the crust shrinks during baking, let the dough rest in the fridge for 30 minutes before rolling it out. For a gluten-free version, use a gluten-free pie crust.
