Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup May substitute with dark corn syrup or honey.
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Optional: food coloring or nuts For a creative twist.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Dust your countertop or surface with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, corn syrup, heavy cream, and salt. Stir gently over medium heat.

Cooking

  • Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently until it reaches the soft ball stage (about 235°F).
  • Once at the right temperature, remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Stir in the vanilla extract and add food coloring if desired.

Storage

  • Store in an airtight container.
