Ingredients
  

For the Burgers

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

For the Balsamic Caramelised Onions

  • 2 large onions, sliced thinly
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

To Serve

  • Slices of provolone cheese
  • Burger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and any other of your favorite toppings

Instructions
 

Cook the Onions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil and add the sliced onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, until golden and soft, about 15 minutes.

Add the Flavours

  • Stir in the balsamic vinegar and brown sugar. Let it simmer for 5 more minutes, then season with salt and pepper.

Mix the Turkey

  • In a bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.

Form the Patties

  • Shape the mixture into equal-sized patties, around 4 in total.

Cook the Burgers

  • Heat olive oil in another skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach a safe internal temperature of 165°F. Place a slice of provolone on each burger during the last minute of cooking.

Assemble and Serve

  • Toast the burger buns if desired. Layer the turkey burger, caramelised onions, and additional toppings as desired.

Notes

Season generously to enhance flavor. You can mix in other ingredients like herbs, cheese, or mustard. Leftovers can be stored separately in airtight containers for up to 3 days.
