Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups diced potatoes fresh or frozen
  • 2 cups diced ham leftovers work great
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese the gooier, the better
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup or cream of chicken if preferred
  • 1/2 cup milk whole, almond, or any on hand

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Optional Toppings

  • to taste additional cheese, breadcrumbs, or crispy onions for a crunchy topping

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the diced potatoes, ham, and shredded cheese.
  • In another bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, black pepper, and onion powder until smooth.
  • Pour the soup mixture over the potato and ham mixture, and stir until everything is evenly coated.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch casserole dish and spread it evenly.

Cooking

  • Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove the foil, sprinkle any extra cheese or toppings on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Serving

  • Serve hot and enjoy the smiles at the dinner table.

Notes

Make it a day ahead and store in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
