  • 1 pound fresh squid, cleaned and cut into rings
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red chili finely chopped Adjust quantity for desired heat.
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Marinating the Squid

  • In a large bowl, combine the squid rings with minced garlic, red chili, parsley, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Make sure to coat the squid well and let it marinate for about 20-30 minutes.

Grilling the Squid

  • Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • Once the grill is ready, place the squid on it and grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side until it curls and turns a lovely golden-brown color.
  • Be careful not to overcook the squid, as it can become rubbery.

Serving

  • Once grilled to perfection, remove the squid from the grill and serve it with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of fresh parsley.

Notes

Check the squid for doneness by its color and firmness—ideal when it turns opaque and slightly bouncy. Substitute with shrimp or scallops as alternatives if desired.
