  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour Use a blend that contains xanthan gum for best results.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast Ensure yeast is fresh for good rising.
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar Adds flavor and improves texture.

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water Temperature should be around 110°F (43°C).
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, salt, and apple cider vinegar.

Mixing

  • Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the dry mix and stir until a dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead gently for about 5 minutes.

Rising

  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  • After rising, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Transfer it to a greased loaf pan, cover it again, and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and the top sounds hollow when tapped.

Notes

For added flavor, feel free to mix in spices like garlic powder or herbs. Brush the top with melted butter for a soft crust.
