Ingredients
  

Bread and Base

  • 1 large loaf large round loaf of crusty bread (think ciabatta or focaccia)
  • 1/2 cup olive salad This is where the magic happens!

Meats

  • 1/2 pound genoa salami, sliced
  • 1/2 pound ham, sliced
  • 1/2 pound mortadella, sliced Prosciutto can be substituted.

Cheeses

  • 1/2 pound provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1/2 pound mozzarella cheese, sliced

Vegetables and Condiments

  • 1 cup roasted red peppers Jarred works fine for saving time.
  • to taste Olive oil For drizzling.
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Slice the top off your large loaf of bread and hollow it out, leaving a nice 'bowl'. Save the bread crumbs for future use.

Building the Sandwich

  • Spread the olive salad evenly on the bottom of the hollowed loaf.
  • Layer on the salami, ham, mortadella, provolone, and mozzarella in that order.
  • Add the roasted red peppers, drizzle olive oil over the top, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Finishing Touches

  • Place the bread lid back on and press down gently.
  • Wrap your sandwich in plastic wrap and let it chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

Serving

  • Slice the sandwich into wedges and serve it up with a side of chips or fresh salad.

Notes

Customize with artichokes or pesto for extra flair. Wrap leftovers tightly in foil and refrigerate for up to two days.
