Ingredients

Noodles

  • 12 oz spaghetti or linguine noodles

Sauce

  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes adjust for spice level

Garnish

  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • Optional: veggies (like bell peppers or broccoli) or protein (chicken, shrimp)

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large pot, boil water and cook the spaghetti or linguine noodles according to package instructions until al dente, which usually takes about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside, reserving about half a cup of the pasta water.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, combine the sesame oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Cooking

  • Reduce the heat to low, and add the soy sauce and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Stir for about a minute.
  • Add the drained noodles to the skillet, tossing gently to coat with the sauce. If the noodles are too dry, gradually add the reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.

Serving

  • Top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

Customize by adding your favorite veggies or proteins. A good stir will smooth out the sauce even if it looks lumpy.
