Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined Ask for the shrimp to be cleaned at the store to save time.

Flavor Enhancers

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced More can be added for a stronger flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme Or your favorite herb.

Seasoning

  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Zest and Garnish

  • 1 zest of lemon Adds a bright zing!
  • as needed chopped parsley For garnish.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Steak

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Add the steak pieces, season with salt and pepper, and sear until they’re browned on the outside and cooked to your liking (about 3-4 minutes for medium-rare).
  • Avoid crowding the pan; let the steak breathe.

Cooking the Shrimp

  • Once the steak is cooked, transfer it to a plate.
  • In the same skillet, add another 2 tablespoons of butter, the minced garlic, and the shrimp.
  • Cook for about 2-3 minutes, flipping the shrimp halfway through until they’re pink and cooked through.

Combining Ingredients

  • Once both the steak and shrimp are cooked, toss them back into the skillet together.
  • Add the lemon zest and thyme, mixing everything well in the buttery sauce.

Serving

  • Remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve.
  • These bites can be served on their own or over a bed of rice.

Notes

Don't skip the lemon zest as it adds brightness. Use butter generously to enhance flavor, and cook everything in one pan for minimal cleanup.
