Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 2 pounds flank steak or your favorite cut
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter because butter makes everything better
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced your kitchen will smell heavenly!
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped for a pop of color
  • Salt and pepper to taste don’t be shy!

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by bringing your flank steak to room temperature—this helps it cook evenly. Season both sides liberally with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat a grill or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, place the steak on the grill.
  • Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, depending on your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 135°F.
  • While your steak is grilling, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in the minced garlic and let it simmer until fragrant—about 2 minutes.
  • Remove steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Brush garlic butter all over the steak and sprinkle with fresh parsley.

Serving

  • Slice the steak against the grain and serve it up with veggie sides or over rice.

Notes

Allowing your steak to rest after cooking is key for juicy flavors. Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking multiple steaks. Feel free to experiment with spices like chili powder for extra kick.
