Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Add-ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark) Ensure they are well mixed for fudgy texture.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

Mixing

  • In a large bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  • Add in the eggs one at a time and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  • Optionally, split the remaining batter with your favorite cookie dough or mix in two cups of cookie dough and spread it over the brownie base.
  • Pour the remaining brownie batter on top and use a knife to create swirls.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Serving

  • Allow them to cool in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

Don’t rush the cooling, as it affects the texture. Customize by adding nuts, peanut butter swirls, or M&Ms.
