Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dark sweet cherries, chopped (fresh or canned)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional) optional
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Preparation

  • Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang.

Cooking

  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips. Stir frequently until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the chopped cherries, walnuts (if using), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  • Spread the fudge mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Smooth out the top with a spatula.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
  • Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut into squares.

Notes

Keep your fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Consider adding sea salt on top for a sweet-and-salty twist.
