Fruits and Spices

  • 6-8 medium-sized apples, cored and quartered
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 2 sticks cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar adjust based on sweetness
  • Water enough to cover the fruits

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by gathering your apples, orange, and lemon. Don’t worry about peeling or dicing—simplicity is key!
  • Place the quartered apples, orange slices, lemon slices, cinnamon sticks, and whole cloves into the crockpot.
  • Sprinkle the brown sugar over the fruit and then add enough water to cover everything. Leave some room at the top to avoid overflow.

Cooking

  • Set your crockpot on low and let it cook for 6-8 hours.
  • After the cooking time, mash all those delicious fruits together with a potato masher.
  • Strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth into a large bowl for a smooth cider.
  • Pour the cider into mugs, garnish with additional cinnamon sticks if desired, and enjoy!

Notes

For an elevated experience, consider adding spices like nutmeg or ginger. If your cider has a bit of pulp, it adds character. Adjust brown sugar to taste while cooking.
