  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts The base of the dish.
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Adds creaminess to the sauce.
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz) Can be substituted with cream of chicken or cream of celery soup.
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix (1 oz) Adds flavor; Italian dressing mix can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese To be mixed in at the end.
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth Further broth can be added for a saucier dish.
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning, adjust according to preference.

Preparation

  • Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cream of mushroom soup, ranch dressing mix, and chicken broth until smooth.
  • Pour the mixture over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well-coated.

Cooking

  • Cover the crockpot and set it on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours.

Serving

  • Once cooked, shred the chicken right in the crockpot and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  • Serve over rice, pasta, or a bed of vegetables.

Notes

For an extra creamy dish, add more chicken broth. If the sauce looks lumpy, it will smooth out while cooking.
