  • 4 pieces chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on Crispy skin is vital for flavor!
  • 1 to taste Salt
  • 1 to taste Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Can be substituted with half-and-half.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped For garnish

Preparation

  • Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for about 5-7 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy.
  • Flip the chicken over and whisk together brown sugar, Dijon mustard, heavy cream, and garlic powder in a bowl. Pour this mixture over the chicken in the skillet.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and cover the skillet. Let the chicken simmer for about 20-25 minutes until cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).
  • Serve the chicken on a platter, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For added spice, consider adding a dash of cayenne pepper or chili flakes. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.
