Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

For the Filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

For the Topping

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  • Add warm milk, egg, and melted butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  • On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it's smooth and elastic.
  • Place your dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

Filling Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine softened cream cheese, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.

Assembling the Rolls

  • Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (roughly 12x9 inches).
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture all over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Gently roll the dough tightly, starting from the long side.
  • Use a sharp knife to slice into 12 even pieces.
  • Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover them, and let rise for another 30 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • As soon as your rolls come out of the oven, brush them with melted butter and sprinkle a mixture of sugar and cinnamon on top.
  • Let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra softness, find a warm, humid spot for your dough to rise. Assemble the rolls the night before, refrigerate overnight, and bake fresh in the morning for a delightful surprise!
