Ingredients
  

Cheese Base

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Thaw outside for about an hour if forgotten.
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Mix-Ins

  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 1/4 cup pecans, chopped Additional pecans for rolling.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped Adds flavor and color.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper A little seasoning goes a long way.

Coating

  • Extra pecans and cranberries for rolling Optional but highly recommended!

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Add in the chopped dried cranberries, chopped pecans, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a ball; rustic charm is encouraged.
  • Roll the cheese ball in the extra chopped pecans and cranberries for added crunch.
  • Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, use Neufchâtel cheese or dairy-free alternatives. Serve with crackers, veggies, or apple slices.
