Chocolate Chip Cookies
Deliciously chewy chocolate chip cookies, perfect for dessert or a sweet snack.
Ingredients
For the cookie dough
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Should be at room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed Light or dark brown sugar can be used
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract is preferred
- 2 large eggs Should be at room temperature
- 2 cups all-purpose flour Sifted before measuring
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips Semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips are recommended

Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week. Freezing the dough is also an option for future baking.
