Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed Dark brown sugar can be used for a richer flavor.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract Using pure vanilla extract is recommended.
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature.
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt Adjust based on preference.
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to mix in nuts if desired.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs until well combined.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
