  • 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut Additional coconut can be used for rolling.
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries, chopped Substitute with other dried fruits if desired.
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk Adjust according to the sweetness of the chocolate.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor to the truffles.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances the chocolate flavor.
  • Extra coconut for rolling (optional) Use as desired for coating.

Preparation

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine your dark chocolate chips and a pinch of salt. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
  • Once your chocolate is melted, stir in the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, dried cherries, and shredded coconut until well combined.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up the mixture.
  • Remove the mixture from the fridge and roll into balls, about one inch in size. Optionally, roll the balls in extra shredded coconut.
  • Place the rolled truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for another 30 minutes to set.

Serving

  • Once set, serve the truffles on a platter and watch them vanish at your gatherings!

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different mix-ins like nuts or cranberries. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
