Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Spices

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Garnish

  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • If using fresh tortellini, cook it according to package instructions. For frozen tortellini, let it thaw slightly before baking.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked tortellini, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Transfer the tortellini mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and spread out evenly.

Baking

  • Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Serving

  • Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

Feel free to add extra layers of cheese for more depth. This casserole reheats beautifully and can also include sautéed spinach or roasted peppers for added vegetables.
