Ingredients
  

For the Pie

  • 1 pie crust 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup 1 cup of cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup 1 cup of cooked crab meat
  • 1 cup 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese The star of our show!
  • 1 cup 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup of chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup of chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add in the chopped celery and green onions, cooking until they are softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Sprinkle in the flour, and stir constantly for about a minute to form a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring until the mixture thickens and is smooth.
  • Mix in the cooked shrimp and crab, along with the lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  • Add the shredded cheddar cheese, letting it melt into the filling.
  • Pour the filling into the pie crust, spreading it evenly. Top with an extra sprinkle of cheddar if desired.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden and bubbling.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh parsley if you like, and serve.

Notes

You can add breadcrumbs on top before baking for extra crunch. Feel free to substitute the seafood with chicken or veggies. Leftover filling can be used as a dip with crackers.
