Preparation

  • In a large bowl, cream your softened butter with a hand mixer until fluffy and airy.
  • Gradually add in the powdered sugar, mixing well.
  • Add the sweetened condensed milk and peppermint extract. Optionally, add food coloring.
  • Dust your hands with powdered sugar and knead the mixture until smooth.
  • Roll the dough into small balls or use cookie cutters to shape them.
  • Place the shaped mints on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for about an hour.
  • Once set, enjoy your butter mints and store them in an airtight container.

Notes
