Instructions

Baking Steps to Cookie Bliss

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it turns golden brown and starts to smell nutty.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed.
  • Cover the dough and chill it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto a lined baking sheet and sprinkle with flaked sea salt if desired.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

These cookies freeze beautifully for future cravings. If you don't have pecans, try walnuts or chocolate chips instead.
