  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk Can substitute with almond milk or a mix of half-and-half.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Spice can be adjusted according to preference.
  • 1 pinch salt

Optional Add-ins

  • 0.5 cups raisins or chocolate chips Feel free to customize with nuts or fresh fruit.

  • Start by tearing your stale bread into bite-sized chunks and put it in a large mixing bowl.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the bread chunks, ensuring every piece is coated. Let sit for about 15 minutes to soak.

  • Bake for 45-50 minutes until the pudding is set and golden brown, and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Serve warm with whipped cream or caramel sauce.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for about 3 days. Reheat gently for a cozy treat.
