  • 1 cup white chocolate chips For melting and coating the popcorn.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar Adds sweetness and helps achieve the red velvet flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder For the chocolatey flavor.
  • to taste red food coloring Generously add to achieve a red color.
  • a pinch salt To enhance flavor.

Preparation

  • Pop the popcorn kernels using an air popper or on the stovetop with coconut oil.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  • In another bowl or resealable bag, mix together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Add red food coloring to achieve a bloody red shade.
  • Pour the melted white chocolate over the popped popcorn and gently toss to coat each kernel.
  • Sprinkle the cocoa mixture over the chocolate-coated popcorn and toss until evenly distributed.
  • Spread the popcorn onto a baking sheet in an even layer and let it cool.
  • Serve in scary-looking bowls or bags.

Notes

For extra crunch, add crushed nuts or sprinkles. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
