Ingredients

For the Stir-Fry

  • 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 each red bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for a gluten-free option)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional) Highly recommended
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch, mixed with 2 tbsp of water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked white or brown rice, for serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, toss the sliced beef with a pinch of salt, pepper, and half of the soy sauce. Let it marinate while you prep the rest of the ingredients.

Cooking

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until aromatic.
  • Push the veggies to one side of the pan, add the marinated beef to the other side, and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes.
  • Toss in the broccoli and red bell pepper slices, stirring continuously for another 3-4 minutes until they soften but retain a little crunch.
  • Pour in the remaining soy sauce and the oyster sauce, followed by the cornstarch mixture. Stir everything together, cooking for another minute until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Serve your flavorful Beef Broccoli Stir-Fry over steamed rice and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to substitute veggies as desired or swap beef for chicken or tofu. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Serve with rice, noodles, or quinoa.
