  • 1 whole fully cooked, bone-in ham
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • to taste Pineapple rings (fresh or canned)
  • to taste Whole cloves for securing pineapple rings
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard (preferably Dijon) optional for glaze

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Place the ham on a roasting pan, cut side down, and score the surface if desired.
  • In a bowl, mix the brown sugar and pineapple juice. Add mustard and stir until smooth.
  • Pour half of the glaze over the ham.
  • Layer pineapple rings over the ham and secure with cloves.

Baking

  • Cover the ham with foil and bake for 1.5 hours.
  • Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes to allow the glaze to bubble and caramelize.

Serving

  • Let the ham rest for a few minutes before slicing and serve with remaining glaze.

Notes

Don't skip the resting time! You can also experiment with additional fruits like cherries for a flavor boost.
