For the crumble topping

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats Provides texture.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Main ingredient for the topping.
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar For sweetness and depth.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Makes the crumble buttery and delicious.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances the flavors.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges. Toss them with lemon juice, granulated sugar, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  • Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Crumble Topping

  • In a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, softened butter, and a pinch of salt. Mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Baking

  • Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
  • Bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbly.

Notes
