Ingredients

For the Bombs

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash) optional for color
  • to taste caramel sauce for drizzling optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes.

Assembly

  • Open the package of crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  • Take a spoonful of the apple mixture and place it at the wide end of each triangle. Roll the dough around the filling, sealing the edges well.

Cooking

  • Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the tops of the bombs. Optionally, sprinkle a little extra sugar and cinnamon on top.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C). Place the apple pie bombs in the basket without touching and air fry for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let them cool for a minute before drizzling with caramel sauce, if using. Best served warm.

Notes

Seal the edges well to prevent filling escape. Experiment with different apple varieties for unique flavors. A lumpy filling adds character and flavor.
