The healthcare industry has experienced rapid change over the past decade with the rise of digital services, creating a number of opportunities for investment.

TipRanks recognized the top 10 Wall Street analysts in the industry to identify the best investment opportunities. These analysts outperformed their peers with their stock picks and generated remarkable returns through their recommendations.

TipRanks used its Expert Center tool to identify those with high success rates. We’ve also analyzed every stock recommendation issued by healthcare analysts over the past decade.

The rating indicates analysts’ ability to generate returns from their offerings. TipRanks algorithms calculated the statistical significance of each rating, the average return, and the analysts’ overall success rate. In addition, each rating was measured over a period of one year.

Thomas Smith tops the list. Smith’s overall success rate is 51%. His best rating was Viking Therapeutics (NASDAQ: VKTX:), a clinical-stage biopharma company focused on the treatment of metabolic and endocrine disorders. His buy call on VKTX stock from April 27, 2022 to April 27, 2023 generated a stellar return of 791.30%.

2. Brandon Couillard – Jeffery

Brandon Couillard is second on this list and has a success rate of 68%. Couillard’s top tip is Exact sciences (GET IN. EXAS:), a provider of cancer screening and diagnostic tests. From May 4, 2016 to May 4, 2017, the analyst generated a 450% return on his buy recommendation for Exact Sciences stock.

3. David Windley – Jeffery

Jefferies analyst David Windley takes the top spot. 3 in the list. Windley’s success rate is 68%. His top recommendation was Medidata Solutions, a company with technology-based clinical expertise. Dassault Systemes later acquired Medidata. The analyst generated a 175.70% reversal with a buy recommendation on the August MDSO. 01, 2012 to Aug. 01, 2013.

4. John Eade – Argus Research

John Eade ranks fourth on the list. A five-star analyst has an overall success rate of 69%. Eade’s best offer was Modern (NASDAQ: mRNA:), a pharmaceutical and biotechnology company. His call on MRNA stock generated a return of 265.90% from June 30, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

5 Michael Wiederhorn – Oppenheimer

Fifth-place analyst Michael Wiederhorn has a 66% success rate. It’s her best advice Community health systems (NYSE: CYH:), a company engaged in the management and operation of hospitals. The featured analyst had a 298.2% gain on this stock from May 1, 2020 to May 1, 2021.

6. Charles Duncan – Cantor Fitzgerald

Charles Duncan occupies the sixth position. Analyst success rate is 52%. It was his main advice Nova wax (NASDAQ: NVAX:), a biotechnology company that develops vaccines. With his call on NVAX stock, Duncan generated a solid 800% return from March 17, 2020 to March 17, 2021.
