The new Accountant General of the Federation of Nigeria, Oluwatoin Madain, was on Friday sworn in to lead a corruption-free government.
Madain, the first female Accountant General, made the remarks in Abuja shortly after assuming office as the AGF, Silva Okoleyabo.
“We are all aware that the Office of the Accountant General has been through some upheaval over the past year.”
“Departing Ag. The AGF just mentioned how he was able to stem the tide.” I pray that our Treasury will continue to grow from strength to strength.
“In carrying out our statutory duties, we must be guided by the general principles of zero tolerance for corruption to diligently redeem the image of this great office.”
The new AGF, who was previously the Director of Finance and Accounts in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, announced that he will also fully digitize the financial management of the federal government.
